Wearable solar thermoelectric generator created A recent study, led by Professor Kyoung Jin Choi in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at UNIST has introduced a new advanced energy harvesting system, capable of generating electricity by simply being attached to clothes, windows, and outer walls of a building. This new device is based on a temperature difference between the hot and cold sides. The temperature difference can be increased as high as 20.9 °C, which is much higher than the typical temperature differences of 1.5 to 4.1 °C of wearable thermoelectric generators driven by body heat. The research team expects that their wearable solar thermoelectric generator proposes a promising way to further improve the efficiency by raising the temperature difference. Energy harvesting is a diverse field encompassing many technologies, which involve a process that captures small amounts of energy that would otherwise be lost as heat, light, sound, vibration, or m...
Meet Marcus Hutchins Who Saved The World From The WannaCry Ransomware For Just $10. Marcus Hutchins: WannaCry ransomware attack has knocked all over the world from the past weeks. It has trapped the PCs of general users as well as the big companies. The threatening ransomware attack locked server and demanded a huge amount from the sufferers. Windows to spread the infection among unpatched systems. Not only that, the dangerous malware took advantage of the weakness in Windows to increase attack. Microsoft circulated an emergency repair for Windows XP, but the effort was put off late to raise the flow of malware across the world. Finally, a white hat hacker split the first version of the malware. Marcus Hutchins (MalwareTech) a British cybersecurity investigator, stopped the first flow of WannaCry malware. He did this by buying a website. Meet Marcus Hutchins Who Saved The World From The WannaCry Ransomware For Just $10 When the WannaCry ransomware was at its fame, a ...
Virgin Galactic Conducts Critical Flight Test of New SpaceShipTwo The first "feather" flight of the VSS Unity demonstrated the ship's unique method of reconfiguring its wings for reentry. Virgin Galactic conducted the fourth flight test of their new SpaceShipTwo, the VSS Unity suborbital rocket-powered spaceplane, on May 1. After three unpowered glide tests over the course of the last five months, the private spaceflight company owned by billionaire Richard Branson tested the "feather" reentry system of the VSS Unity. The flight was again unpowered, but the twin tail booms, or the "feather" of the spaceplane, was reconfigured in flight the same way they will be on reentry during an actual flight to suborbital space. The twin tails of the craft essentially fold up to provide aerodynamic braking on reentry. This is unique from traditional feathering in aviation, which involves rotating the propellers of a turboprop engine to reduce drag i...
India Launches More Than 100 Satellites Into Orbit ISRO takes the record for most satellites deployed in one launch. India's space agency said it successfully launched more than 100 foreign nano satellites into orbit Wednesday aboard a single rocket. The Indian Space Research Organization said the nano satellites — those weighing less than 10 kilograms (22 pounds) — were sent into orbit from southern India. It said the launching of the 104 satellites was a record, overtaking Russia's feat of sending 37 satellites in a single launch in 2014. "All 104 satellites were successfully placed in orbit," the Press Trust of India news agency quoted ISRO Chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar as saying. They included an Indian Earth observation satellite and two small technology demonstration satellites. The ISRO said in a statement that the other satellites were international customer satellites, including 96 from the United States and one each from the Netherlands, Sw...
The World's Largest Solar Plant Is Now Online in India The new plant generates 648 MW and can power 150,000 homes. The world's largest solar power plant has just been completed in Kamuthi, in Tamil Nadu, India. The new plant adds 648 MW to the country's generating capacity. The Kamuthi Solar Power Project takes the title of world's largest solar plant from the Topaz Solar Farm in California, which was completed two years ago and has a capacity of 550 MW.                    The Kamuthi Solar Power Project was built in only 8 months, and cost $679 million to complete. It contains 2.5 million individual solar panels, covers an area of almost 4 square miles, and is expected to power 150,000 homes. With this plant, India becomes one of only a handful of countries to generate more than 10 GW of solar power. India is expected to become the third largest producer of solar power next year. This plant generates a massive am...
18 Year Old Indian Boy Develops World’s ‘Smallest’ Satellite For NASA 18 Year Old Indian Boy Develops World’s ‘Smallest’ Satellite For NASA The 18-Year-Old had launched the lightest satellite the world have ever seen. You will be shocked to know that the satellite weighs just 64 grams. The satellite will be launched by NASA sounding rocket on June 21 from Wallops Island. Well, an eighteen-year-old boy from Tamil Nadu is all set to break a global space record because the 18-Year-Old has designed the lightest satellite the world have ever seen. You will be shocked to know that the satellite weighs just 64 grams. Eighteen-Year-Old Rifath Sharook designed KalamSat, the lightest satellite in the world. The satellite will be launched by NASA sounding rocket on June 21 from Wallops Island. Let me tell you, this will be the first time an Indian student’s experiment will be piloted by NASA. Rifath while speaking to  TOI  said that mission span will be 240 minutes and t...
