India's silicon valley 'living the dream'
In the world of technology, India is still regarded as a global leader as Indian firms are among the top IT service businesses.
Silicon Valley of India has always been Bengaluru. In recent times, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR region are all giving tough competition to Bengaluru but Bengaluru is still miles ahead of all of them. Already people have given some answers which typically describes why Bengaluru is the Silicon Valley of India.
Bangalore is known as the Silicon Valley of India and the IT Capital of India. It is considered to be a global information technology hub and largest software exports from India are done through Bangalore. Some of the top Indian IT service providers like Infosys, Wipro, Mindtree and Mphasis are headquartered in Bangalore. It is also the country headquarters to many top firms like Intel, Texas Instruments, Bosch, Yahoo, SAP Labs, Continental among others. Bangalore alone consists of more than 35% of all the IT companies present in India and contains close to 5000 companies, making it the largest IT contributor in India.
The IT industry in Bengaluru has not only put the city on the world map but has also made Karnataka the top job creator in India by generating about the 24% of the job opportunities in the country. Information technology (IT) sector created about 57 per cent of about nine lakh job openings recorded between January-March, 2016. Within Karnataka, ITEs accounted for over 65 per cent share in job openings. Karnataka had recorded 2.16 lakh job openings in the first quarter of the last fiscal followed by Maharashtra (two lakh), Tamil Nadu (93,000), Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region combined (82,000) and Haryana (72,000).
Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR region also have numerous IT companies and are competing with Bengaluru very well but Bengaluru alone still accounts for 35% of all IT related stuff. Personally, I believe that this competition is very good because it would really help in the development of all these cities, which definitely benefit all of us, Indians in general.
